EU Parliament Supports Germany Sending Missiles to Ukraine
The President of the European Union (EU) Parliament, Roberta Metsola, is in favor of Germany sending long-range missiles called Taurus to Ukraine. This comes after Russia took more aggressive actions.
Metsola said in an interview that most people in the EU Parliament support this idea. She also mentioned that it’s up to Germany to decide if they will send these missiles or not. However, the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has previously denied sending them, fearing that it could bring Germany into a war with Russia.
But now, Germany is preparing for elections in February, and one of the candidates, Friedrich Merz, is open to sending Taurus missiles under certain conditions.
This decision comes after the US allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles against targets in Russia.
