**Kazakh Companies Help Russia Bypass Sanctions**
Several companies in Kazakhstan are helping Russia get around Western sanctions. This is according to a report by The Insider, an independent Russian investigative outlet.
The report says that Kazakh firms like Askarlab, Dicosta Technologies, Panalem Technologies, and Computer Services Ltd have been buying equipment from Europe, Asia, and the US. They then deliver this equipment to Russia.
These companies acquired products from international manufacturers between 2023 and 2024. The equipment they sourced included advanced components such as radio frequency filters and satellite modems.
The Insider based its report on customs declarations and communications involving Askarlab’s director. According to these records, the company procured high-end radio-technical equipment worth around $2 million in 2023 and early 2024.
**Consequences of Russia’s Alternative Supply Routes**
Russia’s reliance on alternative supply routes has led Western countries to impose secondary sanctions on organizations involved in such activities. These measures aim to stop the flow of restricted technology and equipment to Russia.
