Verstka, a Russian independent news outlet, reported on Nov. 6 that Russian congratulated U.S. president-elect Donald through “acquaintances” rather than official phone call.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesperson, said that he was not aware of any plans to congratulate Trump as the U.S. “is involved in a war with Russia.”
Trump also received informal and indirect congratulatory messages from other top Russian officials including Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Chairman of Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
