**Ukrainian Delegation Seeks Military Aid from South Korea**
A Ukrainian delegation led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov arrived in South Korea on November 27. Their goal is to ask for military help from the Seoul government.
The delegation plans to meet with President Yoon Suk Yeol soon, possibly as early as Wednesday. This meeting comes after President Yoon said that South Korea might provide arms to Ukraine because of Russia’s growing ties with North Korea.
**North Korean Troops Join Russia in Ukraine**
Russia and North Korea have strengthened their relationship. North Korea sent around 11,000 soldiers to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. These troops are currently training with the Russians and will try to retake control of a region in Russia called Kursk Oblast.
Before meeting President Yoon, the Ukrainian delegation met with South Korea’s National Security Adviser Shin Won-sik. However, South Korea’s government has not yet confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation arrived.
**South Korea’s Past Support for Ukraine**
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said last October that Ukraine would ask South Korea for detailed military support. However, South Korea has been hesitant to provide lethal arms to Ukraine and instead gave financial and humanitarian aid.
Some reports suggested that South Korea secretly sent artillery shells to Ukraine through the US, but these claims were denied by the Seoul government.

South Korea is a significant player in the world of arms. They have a strong military and defense industry, making them one of the largest exporters of weapons.
