Journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli is in trouble. She’s been on a hunger strike for 16 days.
Media representatives are protesting outside the General Prosecutor’s Office. They want Mzia Amaghlobeli to be released. The protesters have signs with her picture and the words “Freedom for Mzia Amaghlobeli”.
They’re also blaming the authorities for not taking care of her health. The protesters want the General Prosecutor, Giorgi Gabitashvili, to ask a court to let Mzia Amaghlobeli go.
The protesters are chanting slogans like “Freedom for Mzia Amaghlobeli”, “Freedom for political prisoners“, and “Down with oligarchy”.
Mzia Amaghlobeli was arrested during a protest in Batumi. She’s been charged with assaulting a police officer, but many people think this is unfair.
