**Russian Soldier Sentenced to Life in Prison**
A Russian soldier, Nikita Posmetukhov, has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting four other soldiers. This happened on February 10th.
The incident occurred last November. The Southern District Military Court tried the case behind closed doors and didn’t officially describe the incidents. We can’t verify all the details from Mediazona’s report.
According to the report, Posmetukhov was angry with a captain who had given him disciplinary measures and threatened to transfer him. He allegedly shot Junior Sergeant Vladimir Glazyev in a command bunker where he had gone after having a drink.
After that, he entered a dugout and shot three other soldiers: Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Klyukin, Captain Mikhail Trubin, and Private Vladimir Petrichenko while they were sleeping.
**War in Ukraine**
This case happened during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have deserted or sabotaged operations to avoid fighting. Many Russian soldiers have died or been injured in the war.
Russia has lost over 850,000 troops and a lot of equipment since February 2022. The tactics used by Russia include “meat wave” tactics where they try to gain ground with many soldiers attacking at once.
