**Serbian President‘s Visit to ICU Sparks Outrage**
Students from the Belgrade University School of Medicine are protesting against the visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar, and media crews to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Clinical Center of Serbia (UKCS) on March 17, 2025.
The students claim that this visit was a breach of hygiene protocols and put the health and lives of critically injured patients at risk. Some of these patients were transferred from North Macedonia after a horrific nightclub fire in Kocani on March 16.
**Patients’ Dignity and Privacy Violated**
According to the protesting medical students, the entry of many people into the ICU without protective equipment has violated the dignity, privacy, and health of the patients. This includes underage foreign nationals who were severely injured in the fire.
**Medical Students Demand Accountability**
The students are staging a blockade at the University of Belgrade School of Medicine and demanding accountability for this situation. They want proceedings initiated against those responsible, including UKCS Director Jelena Drulovic, Emergency Center Director Marko Ercegovac, and ICU Head Dusan Micic.
