Georgian People Face Uncertain Future
MEP Richards Kols spoke out against the situation in Georgia during a European Parliament plenary session. He expressed concern about the country’s government and its treatment of citizens.
The government has been accused of using violence, repression, and lies to silence opposition voices. Journalists are being harassed, and peaceful protesters face brutal force. This has led to a deteriorating situation for the people of Georgia.
Kols believes that the Georgian government does not respect democratic principles. They claim to support stability but create chaos and target their own citizens. The MEP is calling on the EU to take action against this repression.
The EU’s accession process with Georgia should be stopped, Kols said. Those who support this kind of repression should also face sanctions. He wants the EU to protect the Georgian people from a government that fears democracy.
