Georgians Demand Democracy the Streets

Every night, thousands of people in take to the streets. They want to make sure their becomes a part of Europe.

A Dutch member of the Parliament, Thijs Reuten, says that the current came to power unfairly. He thinks they were helped by Russia and rich businessmen.

Reuten says that most don’ agree with the current government’s decision not to join the . Even before the official results were announced, a Hungarian politician congratulated them on their win.

The Dutch MEP is asking the European Union to help the Georgian people. He wants the to impose penalties on the leaders of the current government and make sure new elections are fair.

Reuten also wants the EU to stop against protesters, activists, and journalists. He says that those who have been arrested should be released immediately.
