**MEPs Warn of Deteriorating Situation in Georgia**
Leading MEPs have expressed their deep concern about the worsening situation in Georgia. The statement was issued by David McAllister, Sergey Lagodinsky, Nils Ušakovs, Rasa Juknevičienė, and Antonio López-Istúriz White.
**Violence Against Former Prime Minister**
The MEPs are shocked by reports of former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia being violently attacked in a hotel in Batumi. This incident is another example of the violence used against peaceful protesters and dissidents by the Georgian Dream party and its allies.
**Support for Peaceful Protests**
The MEPs stand with the peaceful protesters who have been demonstrating every evening in Georgia for 50 days. They want a democratic and Euro-Atlantic future for their country. The people of Georgia have consistently supported this choice, but the Georgian Dream has denied them their future.
**No Recognition of Election Results**
The MEPs do not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections on October 26 as they were fraudulent and did not meet international standards for democratic elections. They also do not recognize any decisions taken by the current government.
**Call for Action from EU and Member States**
The MEPs urge the EU and its member states to take action against those responsible for the democratic backsliding in Georgia. They call for personal sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili and Irakli Kobakhidze. The MEPs also ask individual member states and regional organizations not to legitimize the Georgian Dream government.
**Early Elections Needed**
The MEPs demand early elections, conducted in a fair and transparent environment, with international observation. This would ensure that the will of the people of Georgia is represented.
