Constitutional Court to Consider Two Lawsuits Together
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Merab Turava, says that two lawsuits filed by the President and members of Parliament will be considered together.
One lawsuit has already been registered and published on the court’s website. The second lawsuit was received by mail yesterday and is being checked for technical errors. Once both lawsuits are registered, they will go through an admission stage together.
Turava said that the two lawsuits were filed almost simultaneously and have similar content, so it makes sense to consider them together. He also mentioned that the maximum time frame for considering the lawsuits is one month.
Turava stated that there is no need for an expedited rule because this issue has already been accelerated based on legislation. The court will decide on a timing today, after which work on both lawsuits will begin immediately and must be completed within a month.
