, high-ranking US , has expressed concern about the state of democracy Georgia. In interview with the Voice of America, he said that everything Georgia has worked for over the years is now under threat.

The situation on the streets of Georgia is “appalling”, according to Carpenter. He mentioned violence and government-sponsored actors, known as “titushki”, who are attacking protesters, , and students. This kind of behavior is not acceptable in a democratic , he said.
