Germany’s Michael Roth Urges EU Leaders to Visit Georgia

The Chairman of Germany’s Foreign Relations Committee, Michael Roth, is calling on top European Union leaders to visit the country of Georgia.

Roth wants President Ursula von der Leyen, High Representative Kaja Kallas, Commissioner Marta Kos, and Council President António Costa to come to Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital city. He made this request on his social media page X.

According to Roth, people in Georgia are protesting for European values. They are not demanding more holidays or higher pensions, he said. Instead, they are fighting to protect the values that Europe stands for.

Roth’s message was a reminder to EU leaders of their role in promoting European values abroad. By visiting Georgia, they could show their support for these values and demonstrate their commitment to protecting them.
