According to him interventions are important for member states of the European Union and intervention during a problem in the country’s is a good practice.
“I’d like to start by making a personal statement: we must be aware that the ruling party is trying to undermine our confidence. I will be clear – we are different political parties. We come from very different political backgrounds and ideologies. We represent eight countries, but all of us belong to Europe and the European Union. We are here as friends for the Georgian people. We are not here to fight each other. We are not here in order to force a regime change. I know that it can be difficult to worry about a friend, but we must do it. As EU member states, we need to intervene. It is normal for my colleagues to intervene, when there are problems with Germany, and we look at the future of our members states. We all share the same opinions about the results of the parliamentary and presidential elections. This is one family. Family means diversity. “We are here to express our solidarity with the majority Georgian citizens who strive for EU membership and believe the values of democracy, fair and free elections”, said Roth.
