Michael Roth, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the German Bundestag, responded to the statement made by the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that “it is necessary to prosecute the respective parties”.
“The Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia does not understand what is democracy. A functioning democracy is characterized by a critical opposition. Voters decide whether the opposition or government will be formed. In European democracy, parties are not banned. However, they are politically opposed,” wrote Michael Roth in the social network.
