Former Foreign Minister Speaks Out
Mikheil Janelidze, Georgia’s former foreign affairs minister, has made a strong call to public officials. He believes it is time for them to make decisions about the country‘s future.
In a Facebook post, Janelidze addressed government officials with whom he has worked closely over many years. He expressed his respect for them, but also emphasized that they do not believe their current actions will help Georgia join Europe or serve its national interests.
This comes as Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made an announcement about negotiations with the European Union. The ruling party decided to delay putting opening EU talks on the agenda until 2028. Additionally, the government refused any budget aid from the EU for the same period.
