**Georgia’s Ambassador Expects Fruitful Talks with Azerbaijan**
Mikheil Kavelashvili, the newly appointed Georgian ambassador to Azerbaijan, has arrived in Baku for his first official visit. This significant trip marks a new chapter in bilateral relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
As part of this visit, Mikheil Kavelashvili will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister, and the Speaker of the National Assembly. These high-level meetings are expected to cover a range of crucial issues, including:
* **Bilateral cooperation**: The discussions between Kavelashvili and Azerbaijan’s top officials will focus on enhancing ties between the two countries. This may involve agreements on trade, security, and economic projects.
* **Regional security**: With tensions rising in the region, Georgia and Azerbaijan are likely to discuss their shared concerns about regional stability.
* **Renewable energy**: Both countries have made significant investments in renewable energy sources. The meetings will probably explore opportunities for cooperation in this area.
Zurab Pataradze, Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of these talks. “Azerbaijan is a strategic partner and friendly country for Georgia,” he said. “We expect fruitful discussions on key issues, including renewable energy and economic projects.”
The visit is expected to conclude on April 16.
