Georgia’s Ex-President Speaks Out on Investigative Commission

Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia’s third president, has spoken out on social media about a parliamentary commission looking into the country’s former government.

The commission is currently investigating the activities of the United National Movement, which was in power until 2012.

Saakashvili responded to the investigation by saying that people who now claim to respect the Georgian army were involved in handing over lists of soldiers who fought against Russia in 2008.

These lists were handed over to Russian authorities, and Saakashvili claims this allowed many soldiers to be killed in foreign countries.
