Georgian Ex-President Speaks Out Against Former MP
The third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has criticized a former MP named Emzar Kvitsiani. Saakashvili made his comments on social media.
Saakashvili said that Kvitsiani had been blackmailing the Georgian government for years. He claimed that Kvitsiani had damaged high-voltage power lines and then used this to threaten the government.
The politician also mentioned that Kvitsiani had been involved in a rebellion against the government. After that, he took refuge with separatists in Abkhazia and later moved to Russia.
Kvitsiani recently testified at an investigative commission looking into the activities of the National Movement.
