**Saakashvili Blasts Dictatorship in Georgia**
Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, spoke out against the country‘s current government during a trial in Tbilisi City Court. He said that a dictatorship has been established in Georgia.
Saakashvili pointed out the irony of him being prosecuted for breaking up a rally many years ago. He noted that at the time, no one was killed, but now police are present in large numbers and are prepared to use force against citizens.
**Georgia No Longer Has a Democracy**
According to Saakashvili, Georgia has lost its democracy. The country now has a self-styled government, not a law enforcement system or a proper government. He called this a classic dictatorship.
Saakashvili addressed people who are afraid to mention his name, saying: “Let’s not rewrite history.” He believes that if he were present in the streets of Tbilisi today, the fight against the current regime would be much stronger.
**The Current Government Fears the People**
Saakashvili said that the government knows this and is hiding him in prison to prevent him from speaking with the people. He firmly believes that the Georgian people will not accept a dictatorship and will continue to fight for their rights.
