**Ukraine Destroys Russian Helicopters**
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces have destroyed two Russian helicopters in the Belgorod Oblast region. The helicopters were attacked by missile strikes, including those fired from a HIMARS rocket launcher.
The Russian helicopters that were destroyed are Ka-52 and Mi-8 models. The Ka-52 is designed for reconnaissance and precision strikes, while the Mi-8 serves as a versatile transport and assault helicopter. Both have been used in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
According to Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, the helicopters were destroyed deep in Russian territory by missile strikes. This operation was carried out in cooperation with military intelligence and artillery and missile forces.
**Footage Released**
Footage shared by Ukraine’s Special Operation Forces shows what appears to be two Russian Ka-52 and two Mi-8 helicopters being destroyed. The unit claimed that Russia thought it had secure deep rear positions, but Ukraine proved them wrong.
Belgorod Oblast has been used by Russian forces to launch attacks on Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian authorities have denied claims of strikes on the region, as made by Moscow recently.
