The Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR), reported that on October 20, the Russian pilot Dmitry Golenkov was found dead at Suponevo, in Bryansk Oblast. He had participated in Moscow’s full scale war against Ukraine.
According to the agency Golenkov sustained multiple head injuries that were probably caused by a heavy hammer.
HUR published photos purporting Golenkov’s body in an orchard of apples, without claiming any responsibility for the incident.
The Kyiv independent could not verify the claims.
Golenkov was the chief of staff for a Russian aviation unit. He was a member of the 52nd Heavy Bomber Regiment, based on the Shaykovka Airfield and home to Tu-22M3 Bombers. These aircraft are used by Russia to launch missile attacks against Ukraine.
HUR reported that Golenkov had been involved in missile attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, including the Amstor Shopping Mall in the city Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, in June 2022.
Authorities claim that more than 1,000 people were in the building when the attack occurred. Twenty-two people died, and dozens of others were injured.
Golenkov is also said to have been responsible for an attack in Dnipro on an apartment block in January 2023. It was one the deadliest Russian attacks against Ukraine, with 46 people killed, including six children.
The election results were tainted with allegations of Russian interference. Moldovan lawmakers claimed that Moscow spent millions in a campaign against Maia Sandu, the pro-Western incumbent and voted down the EU referendum.

Sources told the Kyiv Independent that drones were used to target the large Sverdlov Plant, owned by the state and located in Dzerzhinsk, a city in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. This is about 900 kilometers into Russia.
Oleksandr Vilkul said that eight of the injured were currently hospitalized, but their condition is “moderate”.

The upcoming presidential elections in Moldova and the EU referendum on October 20 are considered crucial for determining its future path towards European Union integration.
Regional authorities reported that Russian forces attacked Shostka in Sumy Oblast overnight on October 19 with guided bombs and drones. According to MykolaNoha, the mayor of Shostka, one civilian was killed and 11 others injured in the attack.
