Anastasia Bobovnikova told the Kyiv Independent that the Russian forces had not “managed” to gain a foothold across the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas Canal in the beleaguered city of Chasiv Yar.
Bobovnikova made her comments after DeepState, a crowd-sourced monitoring site, reported on October 17 that Russian forces advanced in ChasivYar.
Bobovnikova stated that she could not confirm that Russian troops had gained a foothold on the canal or anywhere else in the direction of Chasiv Yar.

“However, these maneuvers are accompanied with significant losses for the Russians.” Ukrainian forces quickly repel these attacks, pushing Russian units away.
According to Bobovnikova small groups of Russian soldiers “occupied” buildings along the western side canal. However, they were quickly evicted by Ukrainian units.
