**Russian Troops Try to Reach Ukrainian Positions in Toretsk Underground**
Ukrainian forces say Russian soldiers are trying to enter the city of Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast by using underground tunnels. This is happening as fighting continues in the city, which has been occupied by Russian troops.
Toretsk is a key location, about 20 kilometers southwest of the Russian-occupied city of Bakhmut. Ukraine launched a counterattack there in February and March, but Russian forces have still maintained control over most of the city.
According to Victor Tregubov, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Khortytsia group of forces, Russian troops are having trouble moving through the streets of Toretsk. As a result, they are using underground tunnels to try and advance in the city.
This is not the first time Russian troops have tried to use hidden routes to gain an advantage. Earlier this month, Ukraine’s military reported that Russian forces used a gas pipeline to move undetected on the outskirts of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
**Russia Plans Renewed Offensives**
Ukraine’s military says Russian forces are planning renewed attacks in various parts of the front line, including the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Russia is preparing to launch new offensives.
The fighting continues as Ukraine tries to hold back the Russian advance. The situation remains tense, with both sides vying for control of key locations.
