**US, Russia, and Ukraine Agree to Ban Strikes on Energy Infrastructure**
The US, Russia, and Ukraine have agreed to stop all strikes targeting energy infrastructure in both countries. This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on March 25.
According to Umerov, the three parties agreed to implement a complete ban on strikes on energy infrastructure. The agreement was reached after talks between Ukrainian, Russian, and US delegations in Saudi Arabia.
The US has committed to enforcing this ban, as stated in a White House announcement. The two countries also agreed to work together to develop measures for implementing the agreement.
**Additional Agreements**
In addition to the ban on energy infrastructure strikes, the three parties have agreed to:
* Stop using force
* Prevent commercial vessels from being used for military purposes in the Black Sea
* Facilitate Russia’s access to global markets for agricultural and fertilizer exports
The US also pledged to lower maritime insurance costs and improve access to ports and payment systems for these transactions.
**Background**
These agreements come after 12 hours of talks between the US and Russia on March 24, followed by a round of US-Ukraine talks on March 25. The initial meeting took place on March 23.
The US delegation was led by Andrew Peek, a senior director at the National Security Council, and Michael Anton, a senior State Department official. The Russian delegation included Grigory Karasin and Sergey Beseda.
This is the latest step in President Donald Trump‘s efforts to broker a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow.
