**EU Parliament Member Wants Fair Investigation**
A European Union (EU) parliament member has spoken out against the recent elections in Georgia. Miriam Lexmann says that the polls were not free and fair.
Lexmann believes that sanctions are needed to punish those who cheated during the election. She does not want to punish everyone involved, but only those who planned and carried out the fraud.
**Problem with Election Observers**
Lexmann also criticized the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). She says that ODIHR is influenced by governments that do not care about fair elections. This makes it hard to get a true picture of what happened during the election.
**Need for Fair Investigation**
Lexmann thinks that a fair investigation into the election is needed. She believes that this should be done in a way that is free from the influence of governments that are not interested in fair elections.
