**Serbian Armed Forces Not on High Alert for March 15 Protest**
The Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) were not in a state of increased combat readiness or on high alert on March 15, the day of the protest in Belgrade. This was confirmed by the Serbian Ministry of Defense.
Some military police personnel did provide assistance to the Ministry of the Interior in guarding public buildings and the Ministry of Defense‘s own building. However, this was done at the request of the Ministry of the Interior and followed the law on the SAF.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the Serbian Armed Forces are neutral and do their job according to the Constitution and international law. They perform various tasks throughout Serbia every day, including moving units and assets as needed.
Some opposition politicians have made false claims about the SAF’s activities before and during the protest. The Ministry called this “fake news” and condemned it as an attempt to cause a public disturbance for political gain.
