**Georgia to Deport 25 Foreigners for Participating in Protests**
The Georgian government is planning to deport 25 foreigners who took part in mass protests in Tbilisi, Georgia in November and December 2024. The protests were against the results of a disputed election won by the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party.
According to News Georgia, the Migration Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry has initiated expulsion proceedings against the 25 foreign nationals. Ten of them have already left the country without specifying which countries they are citizens of.
The ministry said that over 20 foreigners were detained during the protests, most of whom were Russians. Human rights activists have warned that deporting foreign nationals for participating in peaceful demonstrations is contrary to national law.
**More than 90 Foreigners Told to Leave Georgia**
Between November and December 2024, more than 90 foreigners were ordered to leave the country. According to News Georgia, over a quarter of them participated in anti-government protests.
