**Ukrainian MP Resigns Amid Corruption Investigation**
A member of parliament from President Volodymyr Zelensky’s party has resigned amid a corruption investigation. Iryna Kormyshkina, an MP from the Servant of the People party, submitted her resignation letter on February 21.
**Corruption Charges**
Kormyshkina was charged with illicit enrichment worth over $480,000 in October last year. She was also accused of falsifying data in her electronic asset declaration. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) made the charges against her.
**Parliament Review**
The parliament’s rules committee will review Kormyshkina’s resignation request before a vote is held on the matter. Ukraine’s asset declaration system was introduced as part of anti-corruption reforms following the 2013-2014 EuroMaidan Revolution. The requirement was suspended after Russia’s full-scale invasion but reinstated in October last year.
**Ukraine Corruption Prevention**
The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) re-opened public access to the asset declaration system in December last year. This move is part of Ukraine’s efforts to prevent corruption and ensure transparency in government dealings.
**Other News**
In other news, Russia could agree to allocate up to two-thirds of frozen assets for Ukraine’s reconstruction if accountability guarantees are provided. A poll conducted by Ritzau news agency found that 53% of Danes are in favor of sending peacekeepers into Ukraine after the war ends.
The Center for Economic Strategy projects that between 1.7 and 2.7 million Ukrainians may permanently remain abroad, potentially reducing Ukraine’s annual GDP by 5.1% to 7.8%. The EU is also looking to develop renewable energy faster to reduce its overall dependence on fuel.
