French MEP Speaks Out Against Violence in Georgia
A French member of the European Parliament, Nathalie Loiseau, has strongly condemned the violence against opposition members and journalists in Georgia.
Loiseau spoke out after the arrest of Elene Khoshtaria, a member of the Coalition for Change, during a protest near the Georgian parliament building.
In a statement on social media platform X, Loiseau said: “I strongly condemn violent arrests and physical abuses against opposition figures, journalists, human rights activists, and peaceful protesters in Georgia.”
Loiseau accused the ruling party, Georgian Dream, of stealing elections and destroying democracy. She called on Europe to take action.
