French MEP Nathalie Loiseau spoke out against irregularities Georgia. She said that fraud and intimidation were seen by her during an election .

Loiseau and six colleagues went Georgia to observe the elections. They witnessed people being threatened or forced to vote certain way. This is unacceptable, she said.

The Georgian people are looking to the European for help. Loiseau believes that the should take action. She wants the to discuss this at its next meeting.

Loiseau said that the EU should stand up for democracy. She wants a resolution to be passed that condemns election irregularities in Georgia.

The vote was taken at the European Parliament. Most MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) agreed with Loiseau’ proposal. 309 voted in favor, while 191 were against. Some MEPs, 34, chose not to vote.
