**MEP Criticizes Georgia’s Parliamentary Elections**
A member of the European Parliament, Nathalie Loiseau, has spoken out against the parliamentary elections held in Georgia. She said that “all kinds of fraud” took place during the election.
Loiseau was part of an observation mission to Georgia and saw problems with the way the election was run. She believes it’s not fair to call the election free and fair.
The situation in Georgia is serious, according to Loiseau. She mentioned two other concerns: a new law that lets people control what politicians can say, and a proposal to ban opposition parties from working.
Loiseau thinks the European Union needs to respond to these problems. She praised the President of Georgia for keeping the country independent.
The Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament is discussing these issues and looking for ways to help Georgia’s democracy.
