Natia Mezvrishvili was summoned by the prosecutor’s office as part of an investigation into alleged election fraud. She has stated that she will not be reporting to the investigating agency.
Mezvrishvili wrote on social media that she was ready to go to an investigative agency after the prosecutor’s office started a separate investigation based on the evidence they provided.
“I received a phone call from the prosecutor’s office saying that we had started an investigation on Ivanishvili’s order to cover up election fraud. I’m calling you because you’re talking about fraud schemes and evidence. 1. Fake evidence and schemes are acceptable; 2. I refuse to participate in any investigation ordered by us with the intention of falsifying evidence and registering election theft. I have said it before and I will say it again: We have submitted dozens (supported by evidence) of statements that point to threats, violence, and corruption to falsify elections. If you haven’t started an investigation into any of them, then they won’t even call you. Once you have started a real investigation of these crimes (not in the same case), we will come and bring all of your evidence (even though we do not trust you).
4. You falsely believe that you can stop me. I will do my best to end the election fraud case. I will personally come and delegitimize all partners. We will then reform the prosecutor’s, court, law enforcement, and justice system in Georgia together with the citizens,” Mezvrishvili said.
