**Ukraine’s Banks Affected by Russian Cyberattack**
The National Bank of Ukraine says a cyberattack from Russia has limited the country‘s banks. They can’t open new accounts or give out loans.
**What Happened?**
Russia attacked government registries on December 19th. The Ministry of Justice reported a major network failure. A Ukrainian official later said that Russia targeted these registries to hurt Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
**No Impact on National Bank**
The cyberattack did not affect the National Bank of Ukraine directly, according to their statement.
