**Ukrainian Soldiers Halt Russian Attack**
Ukraine’s National Guard commander, General Oleksandr Pivnenko, said on November 27 that Ukrainian soldiers had repelled an attempted Russian offensive in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
Russia had been planning to attack the National Guard positions with an infantry group. Ukraine’s Spartan Brigade had spotted the Russian troops planning the attack and shared footage of it.
The commander did not give details about the scale of the attack or how many Russian soldiers were involved. He said that Russia was mostly using small groups, consisting of 3-10 people, to conduct attacks and reconnaissance in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
**Ukraine Responds**
According to General Pivnenko, the Ukrainian soldiers were able to quickly and accurately destroy the enemy’s personnel and firepower. The commander also said that Russia rarely uses equipment during these small-scale attacks.
The incident comes as Ukraine continues to face intense Russian attacks in multiple sections of the eastern front. President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned earlier about existing threats in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
