Gen. Cavoli believes that Russia has evolved into a learning organization, which is very different from the chaotic force that invaded Ukraine in 2014.
In a sobering report to the US Congress, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli revealed Russia’s capability to absorb massive losses in Ukraine and rapidly replenish its military capabilities.
“The army has grown by 15% since the invasion of Ukraine.” “Russia has increased its frontline troops from 360,000 to 487,000 in the last year,” Cavolistated. “Russia has also increased the upper conscription limit from 27 to 30 increasing the pool of military conscripts available by 2,000,000 for years to come.”
Cavoli said that while Russia has suffered a great deal in terms of its ground forces, with over 2,000 tanks destroyed and 315,000 soldiers wounded or killed, Moscow is reconstituting these forces at a rapid pace that has exceeded initial NATO estimates.
