**National Bank of Georgia Employees Disagree with EU Accession Suspension**
176 employees of the National Bank of Georgia have spoken out against the government‘s decision to suspend talks on joining the European Union. In a statement released on November 30, they said that suspending negotiations until 2028 goes against Georgia’s long-held dream of becoming a full EU member.
The bank employees said that their work over the years has helped bring Georgian financial practices in line with European standards, making it easier for the country to integrate into the European community. They added that Prime Minister Kobakhidze‘s statement about withdrawing from accession talks contradicts Georgia’s Constitution and its historic aspirations.
