Ned Price, spokesperson for the US Department of State, has condemned the violent attacks that took place in Tbilisi yesterday.
“We condemn the violent attacks on July 5 in Georgia against civic activists, members of the community, and journalists. Georgia’s leaders, including law enforcement, are required to protect the Constitutional right to freedom of speech and assembly and to prosecute those who participate in violence,” he said.
47 media representatives were injured as a result the attacks by opponents of Tbilisi Pride.
According to the information that is available at this time, 16 representatives of media outlets were injured as a result today of the aggression and violence of homophobic groups.
