**Netherlands Supports Ukraine’s Energy Sector with $70.7 Million**
The Netherlands has given 65 million euros, or $70.7 million, to help Ukraine’s energy sector. This was announced by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry on March 22.
**Long-Term Support**
This donation is part of a larger promise made by the Netherlands to support Ukraine in 2026. They have pledged to give Ukraine 3.5 billion euros, or $3.8 billion, that year. The Dutch government has promised to provide this money to help Ukraine’s economy and other important services.
**Online Meeting**
A representative from the Netherlands, Erika Scholten, met with Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak on March 22. They talked about how the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine’s energy sector.
**Help for Ukraine**
Andarak said that this money will help cover some of Ukraine’s urgent needs. He also thanked the Netherlands for their help and said that a stable energy supply is very important for Ukraine’s economy, infrastructure, and social services.
**Equipment Provided**
Since Russia started fighting in Ukraine in 2022, the Netherlands has given Ukraine over 3,000 tons of energy equipment. This includes transformers, generators, and tools to repair and restore damaged equipment.
**Ongoing Support**
The Dutch government says that supporting Ukraine’s energy sector will remain a priority for them. The Netherlands has also contributed money to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which was set up by the European Union in 2022. This fund helps repair Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, which has been targeted by Russian attacks.
**Other Donations**
Iceland and Canada have recently donated money to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund as well. The Netherlands has also provided significant military aid, including F-16 fighter jets, to help protect Ukraine.
