A TV journalist in Serbia has completed a prestigious fellowship program at the of Oxford. Nevena Madzarevic, editor and host of Nova TV’ morning program, finished her six-month Reuters Institute the Study of Journalism program.

Madzarevic worked a project called “How to adapt traditional TV journalism for new digital formats.” She said that spending time at Oxford was incredible privilege. After working in news journalism for nearly two decades, she had the chance to look at television from a different perspective and think about its future.

The journalist emphasized that changing from traditional TV to new video platforms is inevitable. She thinks that the sooner we adapt, the better prepared we will be for what’s ahead.

Madzarevic also talked about the value of the Reuters Fellowship in making global connections between professionals. She said that exchanging experiences is invaluable and helps us recognize what we do well and identify areas for improvement.

The journalist thanked United for recognizing the importance of continuous development. She was honored to be the first recipient of this fellowship.
