**Georgia Appoints New Ambassadors to Several Countries**
On March 27, Georgia announced the appointment of new ambassadors to several countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement in a press release.
**New Ambassadors Named**
Three new ambassadors have been appointed:
* Archil Kalandia has been named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey.
* Shota Getsadze has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
* Grigol Baramidze has been named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Cuba.
**Ambassadors’ Backgrounds**
Archil Kalandia has served in various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2005. From 2018 to 2023, he held the position of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China.
Shota Getsadze is a former judge who previously served as a member of the International Association of Refugee Court Judges. He presided over several high-profile cases in Georgia.
Grigol Baramidze has held various positions, including serving as the Secretary General of the Nino Burjanadze’s party – Democratic Movement – United Georgia (DMUG).
