**Serbian Government Replies to Claims of Sonic Weapon Use**
The Serbian government has responded to claims made by human rights organizations that a sonic weapon was used against protesters on March 15.
A press release from the Belgrade Center for Human Rights said that Serbia submitted its comments on March 31. The human rights NGOs, including the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights and others, had filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) over the alleged use of a sonic weapon.
**NGOs Filed Complaint**
The NGOs claimed that a hazardous sonic or similar device was used against protesters in Belgrade on March 15. They said that more than 4,000 people contacted them to give firsthand accounts and report health issues.
The ECHR invited civil society organizations to submit their comments on the state of Serbia’s comments by April 8. It also asked official Belgrade to comment on a filing made by NGOs about the health of 47 people affected by the alleged sonic weapon use.
**Government Response Due**
The ECHR had called for Serbia to respond to allegations of sonic weapon use on March 24, with a deadline set for March 31.
