US President Donald Trump wants to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He believes this will help him in his own goals and make him more powerful.
According to political analyst Nika Chitadze, Trump’s statements are not truly focused on stopping the war. Instead, he is trying to boost his authority. “He wants to present himself as a hero who can stop the war,” said Chitadze.
Chitadze also criticized US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Elon Musk for their comments on the conflict. She said that Rubio’s statement was against democracy and that Musk was being unclear by saying he wanted to “stop the bloodshed”.
The analyst believes that Trump is not truly interested in stopping the war, but rather wants to use it as a way to gain more power. He also thinks that Trump will try to take money from Ukraine that is meant for the people.
When asked about the US administration’s actions and whether they serve Georgia’s national interests, Chitadze said “no”. Instead, she believes that these actions benefit a political party called “Georgian Dream” as it gives them an excuse to talk about a “deep state”.
Chitadze thinks that the current situation in the world is not good for Georgia. She believes that neither the US nor Europe are currently paying attention to Georgia and that this is beneficial for “Georgian Dream”.
