**Opposition Leader Calls for Political Offensive**
The leader of the Coalition for Change, Nika Gvaramia, has announced a new strategy to take on the current government in Georgia. Speaking after a meeting with opposition leaders and an MEP, Gvaramia said that it’s time to move from protests to a full-blown political offensive.
**Protests Not Enough**
Gvaramia emphasized that while street protests are necessary, they are not enough to bring about change. He believes that the opposition must work everywhere – in the streets, in the regions, and in the capital – to maintain the policy of non-recognition, which he called “essential and decisive”.
**Time is Running Out**
Gvaramia said that time is no longer on the side of the current government, led by Bidzina Ivanishvili. He warned that if left unchecked, this regime will shut down NGOs, close TV stations, and destroy all political parties.
**Fair Elections Needed**
The opposition leader called for seizing the elections from the current government, but under fair conditions. Gvaramia accused Ivanishvili of accumulating political prisoners and passing bad laws, with the intention of later releasing them and allowing the opposition to return to parliament.
**No Repeat of 2019**
Gvaramia specifically stated that there will be no repeat of the situation in 2019, where a European politician was able to broker a deal between the government and opposition. He said “There will be no ‘Charles Michel 2‘” – implying that this time, the opposition will not be swayed by promises from Europe.
