Tbilisi City Court Makes Ruling on Nika Gvaramia
The Tbilisi City Court has made a decision in the case of Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change. He was found guilty of an administrative offense and given 12 days of detention.
Judge Koba Chagunava made the ruling. After hearing the verdict, Nika Gvaramia said “Long live Georgia, death to slaves”.
Nika Gvaramia was arrested during a police investigation at the Droa party office. He had asked to be present during the search, but the police denied his request. A confrontation occurred between the police and Nika Gvaramia, resulting in his arrest.
He was charged under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which deal with petty hooliganism and disobeying a police officer‘s instructions.
