**Georgia’s Opposition Leader Defies Criminal Prosecution, Blasts Temporary Investigative Commission**
Nika Gvaramia, the leader of Georgia’s opposition coalition “Coalition for Change”, has told journalists that criminal prosecution is not new to him and won’t be the last. He was responding to questions at a court hearing where he faced charges for failing to appear at a session of the temporary investigative commission.
**Opposition’s Decision to Attend Commission Session “A Mistake”**
Gvaramia believes that the opposition’s decision to attend the commission’s session was a mistake. According to him, the whole affair is an attempt to distract and engage society in propaganda. He thinks that attending the commission’s session only serves to further Russian interests, suggesting that Georgia was guilty in the war with Russia.
**Gakharia’s Attendance “A Grave Mistake”**
The opposition leader also criticized Giorgi Gakharia, the head of For Georgia party, for his decision to attend the commission’s session. In Gvaramia’s opinion, this was a grave mistake that undermined efforts to change the regime and fight for Georgia’s independence.
**No Harm Done to Fight for Change**
Gvaramia emphasized that despite the mistakes made by some opposition leaders, it doesn’t take away from the overall effort to change the regime. In his words, “if anyone is lacking in this fight, it’s Mr. Gakharia.”
