Nika Melia, a leader of the “Coalition for Change“, has made some important points about the ongoing protests in Georgia.
Melia thinks that the main goal right now is not to find someone to blame, but to make sure that the government doesn’t get recognition from other countries. He also believes that opposition groups should cancel their mandates and lists. This process hasn’t happened yet!
Melia’s plan for new elections includes making sure that everyone in Georgia agrees that the current government isn’t legitimate. This would lead to a new election, where anyone who doesn’t want to vote can choose not to.
The protest movement is made up of different people with different ideas and opinions. Melia thinks it’s okay if they don’t agree on everything, but they should at least agree on this: that they need to work towards a better future first.
Melia also warned against people trying to gain popularity by criticizing others or taking credit for someone else’s actions. He pointed out that these people usually end up failing and being forgotten.
Finally, Melia said that he understands why people are angry and want to express their frustration. But he asked them not to forget the main goal of the protests: to make sure Georgia gets a better government through new elections.
