Nika Melia is one of the leaders in the “Coalition for Change” and she responded to the results of the election by saying, “Now the most important phase has begun. No one will get used to it or give up this nation. The country’s European direction was stolen. We are in the battle, we stay in that fight, and we have hope for one another and our comrades.”
According to him, “only a tireless and principled fight can bring victory.”
“Only hope or optimism for a miracle, if only Ivanishvili had said yesterday, Congratulations, I’m going.
We were optimistic, even though we knew that he would either say to take 48 or 60 percent; In fact, there were two versions of the story, two lies we would hear, and a little hope for ending the autocratic government with democratic elections.
We know what the opposition’s real result is, we know what the people chose, and we know our actions and our work in these months, as well as the involvement of civil society and citizens, the responsibilities and actions taken by political parties, the agreement of principles and issues of principle around the president, and the charter he initiated. Consolidation brought us together different people who agreed on the future.
The most important phase has begun. No one will abandon this country or adapt to it.
I can understand why some people feel like they have déjà vu. It was the same before. But no, it wasn’t like that. There was never such an incredible support from international partners, and such a strong consolidation within.
The results of the last election were not falsified.
It’s not about the elections. The country’s European course has been stolen this time. Not the parliamentary mandates. They told us to be Belarus. But it won’t be Belarus, and Russian methods will not work here. We are in the battle, we stay in that fight, and we have hope in each other and our comrades.
This is the kind struggle that only a tireless and principled fight can win.
The future belongs to us, and you! “, writes Nika Meelia.
