Nika Melia: New Elections Will Be Held in Georgia Soon
Nika Melia, a leader of the “Coalition for Change,” recently spoke about the current situation in Georgia. He said that new elections will be held soon and that Salome Zurabishvili’s role is very important in this process.
Melia stated that Mikheil Kavelashvili, who will take over as president, will only temporarily hold the position. “Kavelashvili will have to stay for a short time,” Melia said. “New elections will be held soon. A new parliament and president will be elected, and everyone is already seeing the deep political crisis in the country.”
Melia also praised Salome Zurabishvili’s stance over the past two years. He said that she stood with the Georgian people during a difficult time, which made them appreciate her firm position.
The current president-elect, Kavelashvili, was compared to a football player rather than a politician by Melia. He described Kavelashvili as “Ivanishvili’s notary office,” implying that his role is temporary and controlled by the country’s leader, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
