The support is intended to ease the suffering caused by attacks by providing basic needs, such as heating and water during the cold winter.
Swedish Minister Maria Stenergard has announced that the and have decided to offer a winter energy assistance package.
This support and the support already allocated next year will strengthen Ukraine’s capability to provide electricity, heat, clean water, healthcare, education, and any other critical social or civilian infrastructure.
As can be seen from the Swedish ‘s website, the Nordic-Baltic partner countries announced their decision following a meeting in Odesa, on 14 October, between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sbiha and colleagues from Sweden and Denmark, , and Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Finland.
Stenergard stated that Russia’s attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure had serious and extraordinary implications, especially at the eve before winter.
